FACTORY PROCESS WORKERS (Loaders/Packers)
Casual Employment
(willing to work in morning, mid shift and night shift and weekends)
Location: Te Puke, Bay of Plenty, New Zealand

Responsibilities & Job Description:
Work Scope of Loader/ Packer:
  • Packing bags of finished product to correct weights and targets.
  • Packaging is stacked safely on pallets ready for export (guidelines to be advised).
  • Accurate record-keeping of packed finished goods & identify problems / QC production records.
  • Traying and or packing of Raw Dehydrated Foods.
  • Batch bags of raw materials to correct weights and targets.
  • Batched product is stacked safely on pallets ready for production (guidelines to be advised).
  • Loading of raw materials to prepare for production.
  • Accurate record-keeping of batched raw materials & identify problems / QC production records.
  • Producing Raw Dehydrated Foods and being a backup for Extrusion.
  • Adhere to Plant Health & Safety requirements.
  • Any other tasks as reasonably required.

Work Scope of Material Handler:
  • Helps with inwards Goods: Truck/Container unloading, checking, inspecting, and reporting of goods received and ensuring they are of accurate quantity, type, and of acceptable quality. Unload, label, and store safely.
  • Helps check forklift at the beginning of every shift, maintain forklift by completing preventative maintenance, requirements and arrange repairs thru management.
  • Helps check for stock levels and cycle counts to be done as directed.
  • Selects space for storage and arranging for a product to be placed in the designated areas - optimise space utilization.
  • Stores all stock and product away safely, this includes rubbish inside and outside - pallets included.
  • Maintains a safe and clean work environment by keeping shelves, racking, pallet area, and workstations clean, tidy, and rubbish-free, maintaining a clean shipping supply area, in compliance with rules and regulations.
  • Uses mechanical handling equipment with care when moving around the worksite.
  • Moves raw materials, packaging, and finished product through the warehouse from receipt to truck/container
  • Assists on an ad hoc basis in other departments: ie batching, packing, etc. Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results.
  • Maintains quality service by following workplace standards.
  • Rubbish/Recycling Days: Tuesday/Thursdays: Ensure all rubbish and recyclables are in the correct bins at the end of your shift the day before.
  • If you are in a situation that you have no work to complete - it is your responsibility to discuss with your supervisor your options.
  • Utilizing proper safety techniques when handling a variety of materials and equipment.
  • Taking all precautionary measures in an attempt to prevent serious accidents.
  • Handling hazardous and sensitive materials according to established procedures.
  • In the event that you are the last person on your shift for the day, ensure all doors, windows are locked and lights and electrical equipment are turned off - Warehouse, Packaging Room - exterior doors and yard gate at Warehouse end.

Prerequisites:
  • Pick/Packing experience.
  • Experience in lifting products up to 25 kgs.
  • High numeracy and literacy.
  • High accuracy.
  • High sense of urgency.
  • Physically Fit.
  • Able to follow instructions.
