Job Title: Financial Accounting Assistant 
Reporting to:  Financial Accounting & Compliance Manager
Employment Status: Project Based for 6 months
Department: Finance / Accounting
 
Job Summary:
The Assistant to the Financial Accounting & Compliance Manager supports core accounting operations, including general ledger maintenance, monthly closing activities, external financial reporting, and audit coordination. This role ensures accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities:
General Ledger (GL) Management:
  • Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts on a regular basis.
  • Prepare and post journal entries with proper supporting documentation.
  • Ensure accuracy and completeness of financial data.
  • Investigate and resolve discrepancies or unusual transactions.
Monthly Closing Process:
  • Assist in executing month-end and year-end closing procedures.
  • Review account reconciliations (bank, intercompany, accruals, etc.).
  • Support preparation of trial balance and closing schedules.
  • Ensure deadlines are met for timely financial reporting.
External Financial Reporting:
  • Assist in preparing financial statements (balance sheet, income statement, cash flow).
  • Support compliance with applicable accounting standards (e.g., IFRS, GAAP).
  • Compile supporting schedules and disclosures for external reporting.
  • Coordinate data required for regulatory filings and submissions.
Audit Support:
  • Assist the Financial Accounting & Compliance Manager in the preparation of audit schedules and supporting documentation.
  • Coordinate with internal and external auditors to facilitate audit requirements.
  • Provide necessary information and address audit inquiries in support of the Manager.
  • Support the Financial Accounting & Compliance Manager throughout the audit process, including follow-ups and implementation of audit recommendations and internal control improvements.
Qualifications & Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
  • CPA or progress toward certification is an advantage.
  • 2–5 years of experience in accounting, preferably in financial reporting or audit support.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting standards.
  • Experience with ERP/accounting systems (Particularly with SAP).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial reporting tools.
