HR Business Partner / HR Generalist

About the Role:
We are looking for an experienced and hands-on HR Business Partner / HR Generalist to support our employees and business operations in Malaysia and other regional markets as required.
This role combines HR business partnering and day-to-day HR operations, making it ideal for someone who can independently manage employee matters, recruitment, performance management, HR compliance and general HR administration.
Key Responsibilities:
- Partner with managers on employee relations, learning & development, performance management, workforce planning and HR matters.
- Manage the employee lifecycle, including onboarding, confirmation, transfers, employee changes and offboarding.
- Support and coordinate recruitment and selection for assigned roles.
- Handle employee relations matters, disciplinary cases, grievances and performance concerns.
- Support performance reviews, improvement plans and employee development initiatives.
- Maintain accurate employee records, HR documentation and HRIS information.
- Coordinate payroll inputs, attendance, leave and employee benefits with relevant stakeholders.
- Ensure HR practices comply with Malaysia employment laws and company policies.
- Prepare employment letters, HR reports, employee communications and other HR documentation.
- Support HR projects, policy implementation and process improvements.
- Work closely with regional managers and employees across different countries and cultures.
- Communicate with Chinese-speaking employees and stakeholders when required.
Non-Negotiable Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Psychology, or related field.
- At least 3–5 years of HR Generalist / HR Business Partner experience.
- Strong hands-on experience across employee relations, recruitment, performance management and HR operations.
- Good working knowledge of Malaysian employment legislation and HR compliance.
- Must be able to speak Chinese for communication with Chinese-speaking stakeholders.
- Strong English communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Able to work independently and manage multiple HR priorities.
- Comfortable working in a regional and fast-paced environment.
Preferred:
- Experience supporting employees across Malaysia, China, Taiwan or other Asia-Pacific markets.
- Experience in FMCG, food manufacturing, manufacturing or multinational companies.
- Familiarity with HRIS, payroll coordination and regional HR processes.
