About the Role
We are looking for an experienced, hands-on HR Generalist / HR Manager who can independently manage day-to-day HR operations with minimal supervision.
This is an individual contributor role suited to someone who is comfortable handling the full employee lifecycle, working directly with employees and managers, and taking ownership of HR activities from recruitment through offboarding.
The successful candidate must be able to speak Chinese to effectively communicate with Chinese-speaking employees and stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage end-to-end recruitment, including sourcing, screening, interviews, offers, and hiring coordination.
- Handle employee onboarding, orientation, documentation, and probation follow-up.
- Coordinate and support training and employee development activities.
- Manage performance management processes, including goal setting, reviews, probation assessments, and performance improvement plans.
- Handle employee relations matters, including employee concerns, disciplinary issues, grievances, and workplace issues.
- Prepare employment letters, HR documentation, employee communications, and reports.
- Coordinate and validate payroll inputs, including attendance, leave, overtime, allowances, employee changes, and deductions.
- Work closely with payroll providers, Finance, and managers to ensure accurate and timely payroll processing.
- Maintain accurate employee records and HRIS information.
- Support employee movements, transfers, salary changes, confirmations, and offboarding.
- Ensure HR practices comply with Malaysia employment requirements and company policies.
- Assist with HR policies, process improvements, workforce planning, and other HR projects.
- Provide practical HR advice and support to managers and employees.
- Independently manage HR priorities and follow through on assigned matters with minimal supervision.
Non-Negotiable Requirements:
Preferred
- Experience in FMCG, manufacturing, food, consumer goods, or multinational organisations.
- Experience supporting regional or Chinese-speaking stakeholders.
- Familiarity with HRIS, attendance systems, payroll administration, and HR reporting.
We are looking for someone who is practical, dependable, hands-on, and able to work independently rather than someone whose experience has been primarily focused on managing an HR team.
